Zenways Yoga is the only officially recognised lineage of Yoga that has its roots in Zen Buddhism, as opposed to the traditional Hindu schools. It originated in the heart of Japan at the famous Gyokuryuji temple, where Julian ‘Daizan’ Skinner studied and became the first Englishman to be fully certified as a senior Zen master.
Containing movements derived from traditional Yoga, Tai Chi, internal martial arts and flowing dance-like patterns, this fluid style is designed to work with each practitioner as an individual. Understanding that we are all different is at the essence of this practice, and learning how to harness and nurture this fact is what makes it so beneficial for us.
As a certified instructor of this school, David will be bringing over 10 years of experience in Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, and Martial Arts teachings from London, UK back to Japan where this lineage began.
In this workshop he will share with you these ancient traditions of Yoga, meditation and movement, and encourage you to break away from the rigid and fixed principles commonly seen in Yoga today.
This workshop is suitable for people of all experience and fitness levels. Whether you are a master yogi or have never stepped foot on a Yoga mat, this day will be perfectly suited to you!
